Pastoral Council of Ministries
The Pastoral Council of Ministries guides our parish by advising our pastor and staff and representing our parish family. Pastoral Council members are chosen or recommended by other members of the faith community. The Council discerns the gifts and needs of our parish and has the vision to set parish policy and goals. They promote the Gospel through their actions and empower the rest of the parish community to contribute and to take ownership of the life of the parish.
Pastoral Council representatives are nominated from and by the six Parish Commissions and are approved by the pastor. Commission members, who represent all parish organizations and activities, solve problems, meet with ministers from the various organizations, coordinate and link ministries. Commission members must have served one year in a ministry, organization or committee of the parish. The six commissions and the ministries and activities included therein are described in more detail in the remainder of this book.
