Acrobat Workaround
Solutions for Internet Explorer
Do one of the following:
Solution 1
Save the PDF file to the local hard drive rather than reading it from the Web:
- In Internet Explorer, right-click the link to the PDF file, and then choose Save Target As from the pop-up menu (Windows).
- Specify a name and location for the PDF file, and then click Save.
- Open the Acrobat product, choose File > Open, and try to open the PDF file that you saved in step 2.
Solution 2
Modifying your Reader preferences to open the PDF file with Acrobat instead of the browser:
- Close Internet Explorer, and restart the Acrobat product.
- Open Acrobat Reader
- Locate the "Preferences" menu. This will depend on the version of Acrobat you are running. It could be under the "File" menu (V4.5) or "Edit" menu (V5.0)
- Select "Preferences".
- There are several options available. Locate the option to either "Display PDF in Browser" or "Web Browser Integration" and ensure they are not selected. This option could be under "General" or "Options" categories of the "Preferences" window. Consult Acrobat Help if you have problems.
- Close Acrobat and re-open Internet Explorer. Click on the link to the desired PDF file. It should launch Acrobat.
