Stewardship Opportunities

1. Save Sunny D labels and give to Mrs. Wilson to turn in for free books. Did you know that we have collected enough Sunny D labels for our class and Ms. O’Donnell’s Kng. class? Keep sending them in and we will help other classes get free books also!
2. Collect Box Tops to help our school – please put in a baggie with your child’s name on it.
3. Recycle pop cans in front of the school by the stairs.
4. Collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.
5. Buy Scrip on Wednesdays after school or after weekend Masses at the Faith Center!

Grades and PowerSchool
For the first time, second grade parents now able to look at their students grades online. At Open House you were given a paper with your password and directions on it. (If you have misplaced it, contact the school office.) I try to update grades a couple of times a week. I have placed many assignments on PowerSchool that we have not yet completed, so please watch the dates!

School Start Times
Please note that class begins at 7:55 in the morning. That means that the students need to be in the classroom at that time. Starting the school day on time makes such a difference in the student’s day. Please make every effort to have them here on time. If the students arrive a little earlier, they can go to the gym and have time to see and visit with their friends before school begins!

…that each Thursday is Game Day in Spelling? We do a hands on activity that day for our assignment. Here is a list of some of the things we have done /will be doing:

  • Write our words with sidewalk chalk outside
  • SPARKLE
  • Toss bean bags while spelling our words
  • Jumproping while spelling
  • Bouncing a ball with the hand we don’t write with (This makes us use both sides of our brain!)
  • Tic-Tac-Toe Spelling
  • Team Races
  • Hula Hoop while spelling our words
  • Rainbow Writing

Mrs. Torline – apples for our morning snack
Mrs. Klosterman & Mrs. Stephens – Room Moms
