Here's What We're Learning...
For the week of April 21-25, 2008
Reading - We will be reading “Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox.” The vocabulary words for this week are: bellowing, softhearted, ration, tragedy, fateful, gadgets
English - We are continuing Unit 5 Pronouns and Story Writing. We will be working on parts of a story and actually writing a short story.
Math - We are beginning Chapter 18 ”Perimeter, Area, and Volume.” We will be discussing perimeter and area this week.
Religion - We will them be taking Chapter 24 test on Monday. The rest of the week we will be working on and presenting saint reports, which the kids have already chosen. Then, we will put all of the saints on a power point and the kids will have to know 32 saints. They will be given a study guide for this to help them. Test over the saints, will be on Tuesday, April 29 th .
Social Studies - We are starting Chapter 10 over the Southwest. We will be discussing Lesson 2 “Climates in the Southwest” and Lesson 3 “Oil and Technology.”
Science - We will be taking state Assessments on Monday and Tuesday. Then we will be continuing with Lesson 4 “How do meteorologists predict the weather?”

Upcoming Testing
We will be taking our Science State Assessments on Monday, April 21st and Tuesday, April 22nd. These will be taken right after lunch both days (12:15-1:15). Please try to avoid making appointments during this time. Thank you!
