• October 19 is the end of the first nine weeks. Noon dismissal.
• October 20 is Parish Work Day. Come and help if you can.
• October 24 is the 8th grade retreat to the Adorers of the Precious Blood Center.
• October 22-November 2 is Pennies for Patients. Two week campaign for lymphoma and leukemia. Encourage kids to give their own pennies. The money that is raised stays in KS. Alex Montgomery will come to talk to some of the classes about his experiences.
• October 25-26 is Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you have any conflicts with time please call Gail in the office.
November
• November 1 is a Holy day of obligation
• November 3 is Turkey Bingo
• November 7 is the Veteran’s prayer service. An invite to veterans of the parish will be sent out in the bulletin. The 5th grade will be writing personal invites to veterans who are parents or grandparents of kids in the school.
• November 15 First Reconciliation meeting
• November 12-16 Parish food drive
• November 19-23 is Thanksgiving break

8th grade will do volunteer work once a month at the Westview Manor as part of Religion class. Will be doing bingo, bowling, other games, and visiting in the main activity room.

Old Business Trash Bag Update
• Profit of $6000.77!
• Extra in the Attic if anyone needs any more. $10 per roll
• Motion passed to do trash bags again next year. Will keep cost at $10 per roll for now
• Kudos to all the K-8 grade students on Friday
• Announcement with newsletter Friday stating the profit and announcing the top selling families

Turkey Bingo
• November 3rd from 6-9 in the school gym
• Volunteer shifts are now ½ hour long
• Still need volunteers so please contact Julie Suchan if you are able to help
• 8th grade is doing food again this year and their Advent Wreaths
• Scrip/Dillon’s cards will also be available
• Raffle tickets to come home soon. Every family gets 12 this year. If more are needed please contact Julie Suchan or the school office
Firework Stand
• Nicole Green has headed it the last two years and is not going to be doing it again this year. So we are in need of a person to head up the stand this year. Nicole can be a great resource person.
• There is a lot of time involved for the person that heads this up, but it is a great experience that is a lot of fun and a great way to met new people.
• It was suggested to put out an announcement in the bulletin to seek out a head person.
• Topic tabled until the Jan. 8 meeting.
New Business Prairie Land Foods
• This is a program to help give Thanksgiving meals to needy families.
• Orders can be placed Oct. 20; orders taken till Nov. 7; and pick-up orders Nov. 17
• A motioned passed for Home and School to give $500 for the Prairie Land Food Program
Butterfly Garden Request
• Request for 2 picnic tables for the Butterfly Garden. The cost is $129 each
• Motion was passed to give the requested amount for 2 picnic tables
Rusty Eck Car Raffle
• Home and School will be in charge of this event. There is no charge to Home and School and all profits will be turned over to the Building fund. Will set aside a % of profits to give back to Rusty Eck
• A raffle for 9 different styles of vehicles.
• $10 a raffle ticket. Tickets come in a pack of ten.
• Selling of tickets ends May 1 with the drawing May 31
• Will have one vehicle on display at Turkey Bingo and other large events

Coffee & Donuts
• November 18 at the Faith Center, Home and School will be hosting
• It involves setting up and socializing
• Kerri Miser has volunteered to represent Home and School for the Nov. 18th

Open Discussion
• This year’s 2nd grade has 29 students and there is a possibility of 32 students next year. Mr. Montgomery is looking into putting another classroom in next year.
